I am home. After unpacking, catching up on Laundry, doing basic chores, and resting, It is time to show you some pictures of my trip.  Dayna and daddy flew from Seattle together to visit Deanna, Lucus, and Logan.  I joined them flying in from Spokane.  We stayed a week with them and had a great time.  Daddy has hip pain with walking so we were quite limited with much activity.  He is sweetly stubborn, and wouldn’t have agreed to use a wheelchair, as he “can walk just fine!”   After about a half a block he needs to sit down to get relief from his pain.  I guess an alschimers memory loss is OK in its ability to stay in denial.  We just enjoyed car trips. (like sardines ;)).  We sat around and chatted, reliving many distant memories.  We enjoyed daddy’s sense of humor and cheerful attitude.  We played tripoli, a game we played a lot as a family years ago.  Dayna and Deanna had a daily run,  I got to read some while daddy napped.  The boys graciously entertained and stayed with us old folks.  Dayna brought children’s cartoon movies which were quite cute.  We had a fun, precious time together with our daddy.  In the morning he usually knew our names. These are some pictures today of all of us together.

Lucus, me, and Logan. Great nephews, all grown up!!

Daddy, Lucus, and Logan enjoying daddy's jokes! 🙂

Note Deanna in the mirror!   I think you’ve seen us all.  It was good to be together caring for and loving daddy.  I have about 80 pictures. Come see me and I will show you more!  The following are a few shots of Deanna’s cute cottage.  I loved it!  She has a beautiful in-house garden of plants, lovely bright colors.  Spring indoors and out.

Joy, I need you.  I have downloaded 3 photos, and I can’t find them:).  They are somewhere on this page, or have disappeared.  I don’t know how to move them to put them where I want them!  Oh well.  This is enough for now.  I will find out somehow how to do this.  Your daddy is in Nova Scocia today so he can’t help!  Keep ENJOYING JESUS!  He is ALL that matters.  LUBM! (love you bunches, mom!) 🙂

Those who know me best!

My youngest daughter Joy, who is away in Germany to attend college, asked me to begin a blog.  She is a computer science major.  For her, this is an easy task.  For me it is a BIG learning process as she and her dad have always handled anything technical, and she is not here to help!

I do love geeks.  I married one, birthed two.  Our firstborn Jennifer is not a geek but she has her generations geeky tendencies as they grew up with computers on their laps.  Jenn is more like me.  She is good in math, yet doesn’t love it or discuss it over dinner!  We are both in health care for professions.

To begin my entry into the blogosphere, I emailed my 3 children and my husband asking them to help me come up with a title etc.  Their answers tell alot about me.  I considered the title “DjC designs”.  I love to decorate, craft,  garden, plan and organize.  I love to repurpose items for functional organization.  I have done this for most of my life.  Much before it became a trend.  My kids know how much I like bargains.  Most of my clothes are second hand.  I love to make beautiful things useful.  I am very visual and need things to be pleasant for me to be comfortable.

Jenn encouraged me to choose something that had to do with organizing.  She says I excell at that.  She also new it would also have scrap booking as content, as we both enjoy that hobby.  James, our son, said that it could be “mom’s musings”.  As you can see, This blog is definitely mom’s musings!  Joy suggested 2 titles;  Debbie’s Corner: A place for the creative and pure of heart.  Or, Debbie’s Corner: Creative Genius and Loving Mother.  I loved her title.  Debbie’s Corner.  (Only one is pure of heart.  Jesus!  He is living in me and infusing me with His “pure heart”!!! )  My husband Jim had alot of titles.  They were all excellent:  Moms Design Corner,  Design collections,  Layout Sensations,  Captured by Color,  A Place for Everything,  Beauty and Order,  and Design Expressions.

I chose Debbie’s Corner as the title.  I love it.  “Things I Like” is the title of a golden book our children loved us to read to them when they were little.  Jim suggested this as a description.  It seem’s fitting.  “Debbie’s Corner: Things I Like”.

I loved hearing the thoughts of each of my family members.  They didn’t mention my bad habits, but having lived with me at least 18 years of their lives, they do know a little about the way I operate.  What they suggested definitely described what I like.

Thank you for your help.  Mom.  (LUBM  love you bunches mom! :))

P. S.  I will be computer less for a week as I will be visiting my daddy and two of my sisters in flagstaff Arizona.  I will read your blogs on my Ipad, but prob. can’t comment.  I will share with you about my trip when I return.

Your Daddy’s Newest Purchase:

It is not a computer, smart phone, or IPAD. (He did get me one of those for Valentines!).  No new geeky toy that he needed.  It is a georgeous new fire place and a lovely table!  He was coming home from work, riding on the elevator, visiting with a couple who had sold their California home.  They were finishing up their move to their new condo.  They wanted to sell a fireplace and a table.  Your Daddy phoned me and asked me to meet them at their room to look at it.  When we were looking at the condos for purchase, your daddy loved the rooms with a fireplace.  They were boxy ugly fireplaces that I would have had him move out. I was so pleased I saw this one.

It had a lovely mantelpiece.  When we walked into their home, I told him I definitely wanted the table.  It was perfect and we needed it.  They gave us a great price.  Daddy got his fireplace and I got my table!  We got them 3 weeks ago.  2 weeks ago we moved them to their new home.  We put the fireplace on the east wall where our bookshelf was in the living room .  The table is by the Recliner.  This last weekend we “stole” a picture from our Spokane house and got things settled.  I got out my spring colored pillows ignoring the white stuff still falling outside the windows.

Your dear daddy did it again.  He purchased unplanned and made things perfect.  Me who plans, takes notes, and hates surprises, was again cherished by the best man in the world.  After 27 years of marraige, he knows how.

Last weekend Amy and Renae came over to scrapbook  with me.  Amy hadn’t seen our condo yet.  The thing she liked the best was the fireplace.  She thought it was built in. ;).  Perfect!   Daddy paid $300 for this purchase.  I knew you would want to know that detail.   The fireplace has a remote control that I have control over. 🙂  As I am sitting in my chair typing on my Ipad,  the fireplace is roaring.  What could be better than having spring green and turquoise pillows with a roaring fire in the background!!!!   (And beautiful snow falling!)

my lovely table

Spring green!

snow, snow, snow!!!!

March is here. We are having that beautiful white stuff ….still falling. It is so clean and lovely. I have to admit, I am ready to put out my bright spring flowered pillows though. I still think spring is just around the corner.  I buy lovely “grocery store” Alstromerias to have the freshness of flowers in sight. Come spring, come!

Dear Joy, is beginning her school break trip as she travels in Italy, Greece, and Germany. I look forward to seeing all her great pictures on her website.

Much grace be with you Joy. I hope you have no snow!
